Privacy Policy

How Breve handles your information. In short: the app works without an account, and when you sign in we keep only what's needed.

1. What we collect

Breve is usable without an account — browsing, search, lead sheets, harmonic analysis and the metronome need no login and collect nothing. You create an account to save favorites and to import sheets.

  • Email — to sign in. You can create an account with email and password, or sign in with Apple or Google. With Apple or Google we receive your email and, if the provider shares it, your name.
  • Favorites — the songs you save, linked to your account.
  • Scan counter — how many charts you imported this month, so we can apply the quota. Importing requires an account, so the counter is linked to yours.
  • Crash reports — if the app crashes, a technical report of the failure (device model, OS and app version, and the error that occurred) is sent to our diagnostics provider so we can fix it. It contains none of your songs, files, or email.

2. What we don't collect

We don't collect browsing data or practice history, and we use no third-party usage analytics or tracking — the only diagnostic that leaves your device is the crash report described in section 1. Your recently viewed songs stay only on your device. We keep no identifiers of your device.

3. Chart import

When you import a chart, the file is processed at your request and on your behalf — as your agent — solely to produce the result that comes back to your device. Breve does not keep the file or the extraction: we don't store it, cache it, or log its content. The imported chart, and the original file if you choose to keep it, live only on your device.

If you import from a link, your device downloads the file directly from the source. Breve's servers never fetch, proxy, or store that link — the source sees a download from your device, not from Breve.

To read the sheet, the file is sent to our extraction provider (Anthropic), which processes it to return the result and, under its API terms, does not use that content to train models. The only thing left on our servers is your monthly scan counter.

4. How we use it

  • Authenticate your sign-in (email + password, or Apple/Google).
  • Save and sync your favorites across devices.
  • Apply the free monthly chart-scan quota.

5. Sharing

We don't sell or trade your data. We use providers to run the service: Supabase (account, favorites, and scan-counter storage), Apple and Google (social sign-in, when you choose it), Resend (sending emails such as password resets), Sentry (app crash reports), Expo (app update checks — the app asks whether newer code is available, no personal data involved), and Anthropic (reading the charts you import, with no retention by Breve). We may disclose data if required by law.

6. Your rights and deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time, right in the app, under Settings → My account → Delete account. Deletion permanently removes your account and favorites.

  • Access and correct your data.
  • Delete your account and data in the app or by email request.
  • Withdraw consent by no longer using the account.

7. Children

Breve is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

8. Security and retention

Session tokens are kept in the device's secure storage. We retain your data while your account exists; deleting it removes them. Imported files and charts are never retained by us at any point.
